Yes, smoky and spicy is the way to go ;)

Of course, the best Texas 'Que doesn't need sauce at all. The brisket at the Kreuz Market in Lockhart, or City Market in Luling, is perfect just as is. Putting sauce on that would be like drowning a good steak in ketchup :P

Gimme a piece of butcher paper with some Kreuz Market brisket, dill pickles, onions, a hunk of cheddar cheese, some white bread and an ice-cold Frostie Root Beer and I'm a happy guy (who'll be leaving the sauce in the bottle :)
